The idea I have picked is an invisibility cloak. I have picked this because it is easily achievable and because I have the resources at home for it.

LA2:Tripod explanation 1.1

Image
How to set up a tripod? -         Release the tripod legs- The best way to do this is to extend from the bottom down.       Make sure the legs are stable.       Lock the legs-  Pushing the leg locks towards/on to the legs.       *If needed to raise the center column*- Undo the side screw/twist and pull up the center column then tighten the side screw.       *If needed to pan and tip*-  Loosen up the handle at the back of the panhead. This will allow      you to move the equipment around. Then undo the top side screw to be able to pan the equipment from side to side.       Take out the quick release plate or the camera mount and attach the camera.        Slide the plate/camera mount back onto where it was before but this time, with the camera    attached.

Sound for a visual effect 1.1

Single vs Double system- When it comes film and video sound, the first thing that is needed, is to determine whether to use a single or double audio recording system. In single system, the audio is captured directly into the camera and records alongside the image. But with double/dual system, sound is captured independently on a digital audio recorder. Double system delivers a stronger audio quality. One of the most prominent benefits of double audio system is that the audio isn't tethered to the camera. This way, you can focus on the image without the sound being jeopardised.  What is controllable/uncontrollable noise?- Controllable noise is interferences that can be managed. Such as mobile phones, as they can be switched off, so the sound can be avoided/controlled. Uncontrollable noise however, is sounds that can't really be controlled as much. ( for example, a passing car or an airplane)-This is where professional headphones are used. Wait tun till the sound stops, or if...

LA 1 Understand the purpose of diegetic and non-diegetic sound 1.1

Image
Diegetic sound Diegetic sound is a type of sound that exists 'inside' the story and can be heard by the characters. For example gunshots, talking etc. Non- diegetic sounds Non diegetic sound is a sound that the characters cannot hear as it is 'outside' the story. Examples of this are narrations, soundtracks and canned laughter. This scene from Sinister (2012) is a good example of non diegetic and diegetic sound combined. Ellison and Deputy so-and-so talking over the phone would be classed as diegetic sounds as they can both hear the conversation that is going on between them and the audience can hear it too. Also the background sounds such as Ellison putting the cup down, him turning the phone off, the pen on the paper etc would fall under diegetic. The noises that are accompanied by Bughool moving his head is a representation of non-diegetic sound, as no one in the scene reacts to this sound so it is clear this audio was intended for only the audience to hear to draw...
