LA3: Know About Research Technique
Techniques
One technique of research is using books/going to libraries. This technique is helpful because it is secondary research, so it is more relevantly easier to find and more accessibly than primary research. Another research technique is using the internet. This technique is also helpful because the information is all right there at your fingertips. Another technique is taking or giving out surveys. This technique of primary research can be helpful as it can lead to finding out about what people like and how people react to things etc-This technique can also be classed as UPG and SPG;Unverified Personal Gnosis and Shared Personal Gnosis. (To make sure the resources found from these techniques are reliable (that are secondary research) -cross reference!)
Information Trail
Keeping an information trail can be important as it tracks where you got your information from. This is important so you can reference back to resources.Another reason why it is important, is so if you need to share your information with others you can point them to resources that you found reliable. One way of keeping an information trail is by just simply writing them down in a designated (note)book, another way is by bookmarking them (if online) or creating something like a link tree which will take people to links of recommended research resources.
Collate
The different ways you may collate your research is by putting them in order by relevance, (quantitive) in a spreadsheet or database or chronologically (if Primary research). It is important to collate your research so it is easier to understand.
Store
The different ways you may store your research is by putting them on a safe space on your computer, writing it down, USB stick, folders etc.It is important to store your research so it doesn't get lost and you can track it.
